Atty itatanong ko lang po sana kung sa batas, ilan po ba dapat ang vacation leave at sick leave n dapat meron ang isang employee sa isang private company? Kasi yung kaibigay ko meron lang daw 5 leaves all in all sa 1 year at hindi convertible to cash ang sick leave at vacation leave kapag hindi mo nagamit, tama po ba yun? Regular employee na po sya since last year. At sa vacation leave ayaw sya payagan dahil daw wala syang kapalitan sa work nya. ngschedule po sya ng vacation leave 1 month before ng scheduled leave pero ayw pa din sya payagan. natatakot tuloy sya na mgleave at baka bigyan sya ng sanction ng company. May nilalabag na po ba n labor law ang company nila?

moderator
5 days as service incentive leave is what is required by law. any higher is based on voluntary policy of the company.

company can reject vl application if there is a valid reason.

Sick leave is time off from work that workers can use during periods of temporary illness to stay home and address their health and safety needs without losing pay. Spending money on a sick day can be really hard for most workers. Just one day off can make it difficult to get the bills paid on time in a particular week.
