Isa po akong nurse na nagtratrabaho nang pang-gabi. Itanong ko lang po sana kung legal ba ang pagdadala sa nang retractable baton dito sa atin sa pinas. Salamat po sa inyong tulong.

Although the term "retractable baton" does not appear in P.D. No. 9, which is the law on carrying/possession of illegal weapons, authorities may classify it as belonging to "blunt weapons" such as club, etc. While the purpose of the retractable baton is for protection, it is suggested that the use thereof should be confined to its purpose. As long as you don't use it to threaten or intimidate someone, it is lawful to carry such item in your person.

I'm an owner of a retractable baton...

nagdala ako sa MRT ng retractable baton, napansin ng guard sa baggage search pero ok naman.

when traveling through airplane, napansin din ng mga guard sa scanning area, pero ok naman, it was not handcarried.
