Arresto Menor
a company (Convergys) gave me a job offer to start on the may 21st. I already sign the contract stating I would start on the 21st but they just called me recently saying that I am not qualified for the position due to some recent change which happened 5 days after I signed there contract. They said the clients needed someone who has a 1 year of experience with PC hardware support but I only have 11 months of experience. My concern is I already filed for resignation on my current company effective on May 20 so I can start with convergys on May 21 but due to what happened I am now clueless on what I should do next. I am afraid to retract my resignation due to humilation but Convergys all they can say was sorry. What should I do in this situation?

Magandang Araw po. Nais ko lang po humingi ng tulong regrding saking employment. Nagresign po ako sa previous employer ko dahil po sa di nako makakapasok every weekends dahil saking mga priorities every saturdays and sundays. then nagaply po ako sa isang contractor company na tinangap naman ako and inalam kung bkit ako nagresign s previous job ko, and sinabi ko po na conflict na sa schedule ko yung previous job ko. then nagagree cla na dun sa bagong company na iaassgin nila sken is MON to FRI lang po, so tinangap ko po. so paulit2 ko pong tinatanong sa knila na "wla po bang tlga pasok pag weekends" sabi nila overtime na daw po ang tawag pag pumasok ako ng weekends so naconfuse na po ako, before that nagsign na po ako ng contract sa knila. then nagstart na po ako sa company na inassign nila sken and nagwork ng 3 days, nagtanong2 po ako sa mga kasamahan ko dun if my psok ng weekends, yes daw po "madalas" so now nagAWOL na po ako sa contractor ko today and handa po akong kausapin yung HR sa problem ko today. ask ko lng po may laban po ba ako sa sinabi ng contractor ko na wlang pasok ng weekends pero yun pala meron? verbal lang po yun. pero my sinagutan din po akong papeles dun na reason why ako umalis sa previous job ko, and sinabi ko po "unable to work on weekends" thanks po

jay, tough situation. i recommend you ask your employer if they will agree to retract your resignation. as for the other company, your remedy is to file a complaint for damages in court. (not nlrc because you were never an employee)
