Good day po. It's been 2 months since I gave birth and naka-register po sa birth certificate nya is yung surname ng father nya which before is acknowledged sya ng father nya. We're not married. And now naghiwalay na po kami. I had decided na palitan na lng po ng apelyido ko. What are the steps to change the surname of my daughter? Requirements? How much it would cost me and how long would the process take? Thank you so much.

in my opinion, adoption is the best remedy.

What are the steps in adopting my own daughter and it's requirements? How much it would cost me and how long would the process take? Thank you so much again for your kind reply.

Are you married with another guy? If not in my opinion you cannot use adoption to change your daughter's surname into yours. What cannot be done directly should not be done indirectly.

File a petition for the cancellation of the entry of birth. If granted, late register your daughter under your name.

Procure the services of a lawyer who will prepare the petition and file the same to the RTC of the place where your child resides.
