I want to know po kung paano sisimulan ang proseso kung paano ko malalaman na authorized po yung taong nag-officiate ng civil marriage ko last 2003. Actually po, yung asawa ko at family nya ang nag-arrange po lahat ng mga requirements like marriage licence pati po yung reception ng kasal. Hindi na po ako naka-attend ng seminar or personal appearance sa pagkuha ng marriage licence sa munisipyo dahil nandito po ako sa UAE working as an OFW. Yung asawa ko po ay OFW din dito sa UAE at nauna lang sya sa akin na magbakasyon. Kinasal po kami sa Bayview Park Hotel sa Manila at yung nagkasal po sa amin ay Minister po ata ng isang religion sect. Ang akala ko po ay ay judge from Manila yung magkakasal dahil yun po ang sabi ng parents nya sa parents ko at nakarating po both parents namin sa araw ng kasal. Ikinasal po kami sa Manila although ang address ko po ay Batangas at yung husband ko po ay from Laguna na dating resident from Tondo pero po yung kasal namin ay na-register sa Caloocan. Dumating po ako sa Manila from UAE just a few days po ng araw ng kasal . At sa mismong araw po ng kasal namin ay niloko na po nya ako sa pera dahil akala ko po ay bayad na ang reception, yun po pala ay hindi pa sya bayad at ako po ang nagbayad ng lahat-lahat na inilihim ko po sa family ko ang nangyari. Ilang beses na po kaming naghiwalay-nagkabalikan dahil sa pambabae nya at irreconcilable differences plus di po sya nagbibigay ng support sa anak namin na kasama rin namin sa UAE.

Now po ang question ko, considered po ba na void po yung marriage kung di po ako ang nag-personal appearance sa pagkuha ng marriage licence or baka nga po walang marriage licence kasi di ko po nakita yung paper nay yun ever since. Saan po ba ako makukuha ng copy ng licence if ever meron po? At saan ko po mave-verify na authorized po yung taong nagkasal sa amin? Na-authenticate naman po yung marriage certificate namin dahil kinailangan po iyon dito sa UAE dahil dito ko po ipinanganak ang anak namin last 2005. Pag authenticated po bas a NSO, considered na legal yung kasal at yung nag-officiate? Magkano po ang approximate fees ng declaration of nullity for void marriages at ilang months po ang itatagal?

moderator
until a celeb and a basketball player were able to recently invoke lack of authority of the solemnizing officer, i would have said i don't see a basis for annulment. you can look up the SOIS database in nso. you have to prove that both of you did not believe the officer did not have authority to conduct the marriage.
