if i were the prosecutor, i could still convict you without the wife.
get a lawyer to advise you in depth. explore possibility of pleading guilty so that punishment will be lower and you can apply for probation.

puede rin po ba ang "possibility of pleading guilty so that punishment will be lower and you can apply for probation" sa case under R.A. article 172? salamat po.

if you are referring to the revised penal code and falsification, then you don't even have to plead guilty. you can undergo trial and if convicted, only then apply for probation

her defense should be that she did not know you were married

Again this is depends upon situation, if marriages are both held in the same country, but if it is in different country, then it's a long process and will not prosper!

In other words, bigamy is highly unlikely to prosper if the marriages are in a different country! Kapag kasal ka sa parehong Pinoy/Pinay doon ka madadali dahil both are under Philippines jurisdiction Kahit saang lupalop ka pa magpasakal!
Kapag pumasok sa NSO at both subject are Filipino Citizen? Ayus ka dyan!

haunt, if the second wedding was held in philippine territory, then he can be charged with bigamy.
if both are registered in nso, there is yet no case that has confirmed that a bigamy case will prosper
