My office is an engg design company. Our projects are mostly located in middle east or africa. After executing the design here in our manila office, we usually send several engineers to project sites to support the construction group. Their stay at project site normally last for a year or two. My first question is: if their travel time going to and from our project site falls on a weekend or holiday, should it be compensable? If yes, will it be an OT pay?
Then our company gives them benefit called homeleave wherein the employee can have a vacation for 18days for every 6mos of stay at project site. Same question: is travel time for this homeleave compensable if it falls on weekend or holiday? Is it should OT rate?
