hello im an american interested in the legalities of infidelity in the philippines. my question is a hypothetical if i am seeing a woman and she lies to me that she has never been married but is in reality cheating or seperated from her husband and the ex brings charges of infidelity against me what are the legal options for me. i am terrified of ending up in a philipino prison.

how is infidelity proved, there would be no love child as ive had a vasectomy?

obviously if i found out she had kids or was previously married i would seperate from her at once.

any thoughts as this law seems to have a lot of grey area where someone like me could be unaware they are participating in infidelity?

thanks for your response and i will share it with other foreingers living in your wonderful country also curious about this law.

you can use her lies as defense. you are liable only if you are aware that she is married and still you engage in a sexual relationship with her. and depending on circumstances and your statement and her statement, there might be some twist.

protect yourself by requesting for a "certificate of no marriage" from our NSO
