Asked for a COE while still connected with the company

good morning. i recently applied for work abroad and one the requirements is a COE. I asked for a COE dun sa HR ng company namin and I confirmed naman na for my application abroad. ayaw ako bigyan ng COE dahil connected pa raw ako and makakakuha lang ako nun kapag resigned na ako and cleared na ako. tama po ba yun na hindi ako bibigyan? wala po ako nakita sa labor code na bawal mag bigay ng COE.

that's right, there is no legal right to a COE.

try to prove the existence of your employment by presenting your ID and payslips or contract to your prospective employer.

in the future, the trick is to say that you are applying for a loan.
