What papers or any complications in transporting a cadaver 100 miles overland.

My father is terminally ill and is about to die about 100 miles south of his natural home. He would like to be buried in his local cemetery. I assume on his death we get a Death Certificate from a doctor, we know his date of birth but he has no Birth Certificate.
Are we allowed privately to drive his body 3 hours by car overland (no ferry or plane)and then pass over his cadaver to a funeral service at his home town? Are there any complications if there is a check point and there is a cadaver in a private car?

Advice please Gisella

go to the local health office and secure a permit to transport....the permit is to be attached to the death certificate and is to be shown to authorities once they ask for it.
