Hi guys,

I just want to share what happened with my mom's death benefit and sss. We have been trying for more than a year to settle this issue. My mom's death benefit was suspended due to failed compliance with ACOP. We had fixed it. My sister received a txt message from an employee from SSS Tarlac and said that we will be getting the unclaimed death benefits of my mom on or before November 12, 2013 and the amount is more than 200k, which is what they had computed before. Now, my sister has a friend (fixer) who knows someone who works in SSS Tarlac. He told us last night that we are only getting 121,000 because it was a miscalculation. They saw that my father's status is employed and not self-employed, that is their reason which I am not also sure if he is employed or self-employed in his SSS account. I also don't know if that makes a difference. But here is the catch.. As per "the fixer" SSS wants a commission.. They will make our benefit 230k but they will be getting the 80k.. Meaning, 150k is ours and 80k is theirs.. Is that even legal? And how could they get the 80k when it will all go straight to our bank account? I am assuming that they are scamming us..And they also do not want is to contact the SSS Main office because "baka daw makita n nprioritize ung smin eh bawal daw yun". The "fixer" then told us last night that if we will agree to their terms, they will sign the check on November 3 (Sunday, haller?!) and it will be released a week after. But if we don't agree, we'll still be getting the same amount but they will make it a longer process.

Note: I did receive an email from SSS main that the death benefit was already settled on October 23, 2013. Not sure what that means.

I need your suggestions on what I should do..

Thank you for taking time to read our sitatuation.

Hi Sir/Mam,

SSS has an official email. If the sender comes from "", then you can be sure that it truly came from the office and not from the fixer.
