did you already move it? why do you want to do so? under your electricity contract, are you the owner of the meter or it is still owned by the company?

opo. we already relocated it last year. mga september or august po ata yun, 2009 pa. pero nasira yung meter this august 2010 lang. sa mother ko na po nakapangalan yung bill ng meralco namin. nagpaextend po kse kami ng terrace, tatamaan po yung meter kaya nirelocate namin, pero we do have a request for relocation from meralco.

if meralco was informed then why is this an issue to you? i do not believe a complaint will prosper if the electricity provider was informed (and that you can prove that they were.)

was there a time when electricity was being used but not going through the meter? try to show the steadiness of your electricity bill during that period.

spiker, i'm not an electrician, but i don't understand how a broken meter will still pass electricity. you should start preparing your defense now which is mainly to establish that the meter was moved back in 2009 and you have been paying a regular amount since then.

the problem is that under the law, if there are signs of tampering, then there is a prima facie evidence of pilferage. if you do not pay, meralco will cut off your electricity and charge you accordingly.

here is the magna carta for electricity consumers:

Thank you po. I'll read the magna carta for electricity consumer. Nakipag-usap po kami dun sa branch this morning, pinapagawa po kami ng letter para daw po just in case, bumaba yung binibill sa amin. baka daw po mabigyan kami ng discount and it could help to delayed the disconnection of service. Nagtanong po ako kung pano yung computation, sabi nila, highest bill multiplied 5 years backwards. wala rin naman po kaming choice, gusto lang namin na fair lang yung dapat na imulta sa amin. parang unfair naman po kse yung 5 years backwards na computation where in fact, last year lang na move yung meter. tama po ba yung computation na ginawa nila? thank you po. i'm really thankful sa time na binigay nyo. god bless po.

yes, i agree it is unfair, but i recommend you pay, then seek refund with the ERC

Yung 2nd tenant average bill was around P5000.

1. the sealing wire of the cover seals was cut.
2. the 1000th, 100th and 10th dial pointers of the meter register were out of alignment.
