Friendly advice:

When you file your resignation (in writing), remember:

1. You need at least a 30-day notice. Unless the company allows any other shorter period.
2. You need to have a receiving copy for your own records.

Can that receiving copy just be a confirmation of email (proof that the email was sent, the message was seen)?

No, with technology, that can be tampered.
