Are you required to call your supervisor when you will be absent?
If yes, then you did not comply with procedure - and selling your phone does not justify failure to advise. Besides, you were able to call your sick line so how were you not able to call your supervisor?
As long as you have not yet been terminated (given proper notice) you should continue to report to work. Their failure to observe due process can result in damages to be paid to you (eventually).
