We are planning to get a civil marriage later this year or next year. both parties are on legal age without the need for parental consent. The marriage will be secret to our parents because one of the parties do not agree of the marriage for cultural differences.

I would want to inquire how does the marriage affect our travel documents abroad? We are frequent travelers including travels that requires a visa.
Will we need to declare marriage to re-apply for a visa in case we need to re-apply?

I need an immediate response on this matter.

thank you very much.

That depends which part of the world you are travelling and the status of your visas. If for Middle East, your husband would only need to submit your marriage certificate to his employer for them to get you a spouse visa. If somewhere in any Western countries, You can stay on your present visa but will have to report your marriage upon renewal or application for a new visa.

Also, she doesn't necessarily needs to change her surname if her passport is still valid, you only need to submit your marriage certificate to the Philippine embassy abroad, better to do it outside Philippines it's faster as they will just stamp her next page passport,, I think that's called "Pagtatakda" that she is married to:
And that's pretty much it! When she renew her passport they will use your surname, but still need to submit your marriage certificate upon application of renewal so they can change her single name to marriage name.

what if we do not want to submit a document stating that we are married to the embassy, is it legal to keep it still secret?

Then you will not be considered as couples anywhere else, it's up to you! If you are in any part of Middle East that is risky you can end up in jail and her getting stoned to death if caught.
