1 Acceptance Fee on Sun Feb 01, 2015 5:25 am

Arresto Menor
Last year, I hired a lawyer to defend me in a civil case at the MTC and paid the necessary acceptance fee plus a court appearance fee every time a hearing was scheduled. To make a long story short, we eventually won the case and were awarded a token representing reimbursement legal fees plus moral damages. However, the plaintiff through his lawyer, filed an appeal at the RTC prompting my lawyer to inform me and advising me that he would require a new acceptance fee to handle/answer the plaintiff's appeal.

My question is, is the demand for a new acceptance fee by my lawyer a standard procedure among practitioners and therefore, ethical considering that an acceptance fee for the same case was already paid for? What can or should I do?
