I heard that if the employees are enjoying a particular benefit for at least 3 consecutive years, this particular benefit will be enjoyed years thereafter. Is this true?

What if previous external auditors didn't find any irregularity on this particular benefit. But after nine years, the current external auditor finds it disallowable. What will happen to this benefit? Should it be disallowed and have the employees reimburse the benefit received? Or, do the company have the right to continue giving this particular benefit?
