The NIRC provides that the employee share in premiums (HDMF, GSIS, PHIC, SSS, Union dues) are deductible from the taxable income. The mandatory HDMF (Pag-IBIG) premium is P100.00. What if the employee pays more than the mandatory premiums (which the law also allows), for example the employee pays P500.00 as his/her share, how much is the amount deductible from the taxable income?

i would argue that the amount paid should be deducted from taxable income.
