I recently purchased a new Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge and used it in a pool for the first time. It then started malfunctioning and after taking it to the place I purchased it (ComWorks at SM Sta. Rosa) they informed me that there is water damage.
The primary reason I purchased the phone is because of it's IP 68 water protection rating which states that the phone would be able to sustain no damage if soaked underwater for 30 mins in depths of up to 1.5m. Would this be a violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines or RA 3740? And if so, how should I approach filing a complaint against them?
