Hello Atty. I just want to seek some legal advise on my case. If you are tagged as AWOL because you were absent for a day without prior notice to your employer then the next day you filed an immediate resignation for that company, can they file charges against me because of that? The contract that I signed for them is dec.12 to jan.11 only. Then, I was supposed to be on probationary status after but since I was late on jan.12th they extended my apprenticeship period for a week. Hope you can help me on this. Thank you.

I don't think they will because the period is only 7 days.

Next time, if you are a fixed period employment / contract such as this, just state in your letter that you are no longer pursuing your career as a probationary / regular employee in your company and that your last day will be on the last day stated in the contract.
