I am the present Chairperson of the Inspection Committee of our Office with a term of 2 years. There was a big delivery last Friday July 22, 2011 but I was on leave and the other alternate co-chairpersons were also out on that day. My boss called my attention that it is my JURY DUTY to inspect the deliveries at all costs even if I am on leave.
Though the IC were not around, the items were delivered and we are just going to have it post-inspected this week. My question is, what is the meaning of JURY DUTY in our case? Is an administrative liability will be slapped upon me? or what penalty could I be charged with?
