Hello po,

Thank you for taking this email. My husband and has been separated for almost 7 yrs, if not for our son I wouldn't even call home. They just came last year as Permanent Residents here in Canada. I am also a Permanent Resident. I gave it a try to work our marriage but it just couldn't be worked out anymore. After a month in one roof I just had to get him separated, and rented an apartment for him. In short, I filed for divorce, uncontested, while my husband was still here in Canada, I was able to get him to sign a hand written property settlement between us for all the real assets that we have to be given to me. Together with that signed handwritten property agreement, the lawyer gave him the copy of the petition for divorce before He decided to go back to the Philippines.
My lawyer told me about waiting for a year to get the final judgment from my petition. My question: When my Divorce get finalized, should I not worry in transferring titles of a couple properties that's based in the Philippines to my name? Will there be any conflict at all to get it done?
Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.

i'm afraid your divorce will not be recognized in the philippines because you were still a filipino when divorce petition was filed.
